I came from Iowa where I packed up my Buick 2 days after graduating college at Graceland University and headed to California to find my dream job. What I found was a vast, expansive and sometimes unforgiving land. I've lived in Alamo and Danville for the past six very successful years as personal trainer and marketing manager for a title and escrow company. What the success did not bring was filling a void in my spiritual life, so I needed to find my haven close to Mother Earth. My love resides in working the land and nourishing the soil with hard labor as I'm not at peace unless there's dirt under my nails. It's been my dream to tend a vineyard & farm through organic practices. Organic mulch, site and brilliant sunshine are the life sustaining sustenance's and are more important to the vegetables and grapes than to their varieties.
So I had an epiphany 2 years ago listening to my heart and realizing I needed to find nourishment; I began being frugal from my successful career and started simplifying my life. I sold my BMW's, Porsche, brand new lifted Toyota Tacoma truck and then my Mercedes 300 Diesel Turbo. What I needed now was a good ol' farm truck.
Then I discovered a website called www.landandfarm.com. I began researching land all over the world. Somehow, West Virginia kept popping up on the screen for places that I would love to visit. If it's good enough for inspirational musicians to sing about, it should be worth the trip to find out on my own. Two months later I flew out and decided this was the next transition for me to challenge all aspects in my life. West Virginia is absolutely breathtaking...I would recommend it to anyone who desires to find their soul again.
I am up to the challenge and I am preparing to deliver the freshest most soulful food, wine, and art you have ever taken part in...my word.

This is the workhorse of the farm, named “Tiller”, who is a 1960 Massey Ferguson 351. A real dandy... |
